The New Apostles!

The story of the New Apostles dates back over thirty-five years to the early part of 1980. Having initially bonded over a love of post punk bands like Joy Division and Television, the core trio – Phil Pidluznyj (vocals/guitar/keys), Andy Whitehurst (guitars), Andy Pidluznyj (bass) – and a succession of drummers made a name for themselves as one of the finest exponents of left field guitar based eccentricity in their native East Midlands. Having released several EPs including one for cult Italian label Compact Cassettes the band called it a day in 1998. Only to reform last year, revitalised and with an arsenal of new material, they put out the ‘West Bank’ EP in November of last year to critical acclaim, following it up with their first album ‘Apparatchiks’ earlier this year.
