Well today I changed my Download Festival playlist of Faith No More, Dubwar and L7 to my Splendour Festival playlist of The Specials, Roots Manuva and Bananarama. I like to get in the mood for the festivals I am going to – this year is a good year line up wise on all the festivals I can make!
If you could play with any other band or musician who would it be?
My ultimate three musicians would be Mike Patton for his wide vocal techniques (and his fit face) & David Bowie for his style and calming effect and M.I.A because she’s amazing and I like variety in my life. Benji from Skindred. I love his bands, he’s an amazing performer and front man and he’s just so god damn cool!
Are you working on anything new?
Well we have just recorded two single releases and filmed a music video. We have done that so we can grab a bit more time to record a full album which we hope to get finished this year. We are still very new but things have been going great so far and we have had so much interest and support so far its been amazing.
If yes: when and where can we get it? and what can we expect?
Ok so right now, we think you will be viewing the music video for our debut single release ‘Bad Girls’.This coming weekend (20th June) – this will support the release due out digitally on iTunes on the 6th July. You can actually pre order your copy here: https://itunes.apple.com/…/alb…/bad-girls-single/id998131638
Who should we listen to locally and why?
Well there’s quite a few local bands right now that are really worth catching if you haven’t already.
Crosa Rosa, Mannequin, Desensitised, The Madeline Rust, Eva Plays Dead, Grim Dylan, King of Pigs… I could go on for ages here!
Favourite gig to date?
My favourite gig with You Want Fox is when we played Rock City. We had only been going 2 months and IKE Productions asked us to play. The guys at IKE are really bloody nice chaps too.
The worst/best or most unusual thing to happen to you at or on the way to a gig?
I have gigged alongside a bunch of people dressed as Star Wars characters at the annual Fleece Strikes Back festival. Its not everyday a storm trooper with a pint in his hand is watching you! That happened to be my worst gig too!
What did you/do you want to be when you grow up?
I have to be honest here – I wanted to be a TV Presenter sooo bad! I actually entered the same competition as Fearne Cotton to join the gang on the The Disney Club on Saturday mornings! Needless to say I didn’t cut it. So I ended up changing my path half way through my early days. I can honestly say I am glad I did. I love making music.
Aspirations for the future?
To be happy, to be with the people I love, eating lots of good food, drinking nice wines, travelling the beautiful world and making music in between
What made you decide that you wanted to be a band?
I just kept discovering more and more genres and bands and people that made me want to do it. Music is the universal language right?
