Let’s give this one a whirl shall we?
94 Gunships – ‘Tooth Rattle’ EP:
Tooth Rattle – Have you got your leather jackets, superhero hair, and sultry walk down a busy street ready? This one’s been plucked straight of your new favourite TV show, and the lead is one cool cucumber. This Royal Blood-like sounding track will do the trick for the morning walk to work, but you’d love it come on at your local bar while you sip a glass of whisky old enough to order its own glass of whisky. 9/10
Good Book – Smoke on the water? Oh no, just a bit of low energy blues, perfect for Sunday afternoons around the house. The vocals really compliment to muddy and moody tone of the lead guitar in this one that’s just begging to be listened to over a smoke and complaints of how Monday morning can just fuck off. Get down with the flanger. 8/10
Loretta – Peggy Sue, Cecilia, Arabella. Loretta, join their ranks. Of course, I’m referring to songs named after girls. And this sunny drive time tune brings textures to the table that I certainly wasn’t expecting. Loving the use of the trumpets lads, a very refreshing touch in what could have just been another decent rock offering 7.5/10
Guts – They’ve certainly got them. The closing act to this very solid performance is definitely a chapter ender. If you’re not clicking your fingers and bopping your head by this point, maybe this EP isn’t your poison. I so, shame on you, and how did that BASS not BLOW YOU AWAY. My hips are definitely off on one to this tune.
Whirled and twirled. 8.5/10
