THE YONS * * * * * * * * 9.30 pm

Nottingham band The Yons found themselves back in a rehearsal room in Spring 2017 after a 25 year hiatus. Old friendships were re-kindled and old grudges were nicely forgotten, or at least forgiven. However, although time might have mellowed the band as people, the blistering sound of The Yons in full sonic flight convinced them that they still wanted to make music and that they still wanted other people to hear it and join in the fun.

Using the magic of Facebook The Yons were able to add to the mix Chris Morgan, knockabout friend from their Beeston College days (circa 1987) and considerable singer-songwriter talent (Reporters, Saltbox and others). The band have drawn on their deep back-catalogue whilst constantly adding new material to produce a sound that fuses their 80s indie/punk roots with alt pop/alt country/alt rock/alt everything else.

After receiving an overwhelmingly positive response at their reunion gig at the Gavaround Festival in the summer The Yons decided to rebuild and reform coming back bigger, better and "wiser" than ever before.
