Formed in 2023, Swallowtail are an Alternative Rock 4 piece based in Nottingham. Their sound has hints of Sonic Youth’s experimentation, combined with the eeriness of The Twilight Sad, driving rhythms of DIIV and ambient sounds of Just Mustard. They blend the fuzzy aspects of shoegaze with the intricate melodies of post-punk creating an elegantly gritty soundscape. J12's musical style seamlessly blends harmonic afrobeat with dynamic vocals in English, Yoruba, and Pidgin English. A pivotal moment in J12's journey arrived with the release of his debut EP, "CLUE," featuring the standout track "MINE,"which garnered recognition and received airplay on BBC Introducing East Midlands. His latest endeavors include the release of his first single of the year, "YANRIYAN," on April 19, 2024. His second EP, "TRANSITION," was released on May 4, 2024 and accompanied by the official video for "YANRIYAN" released on May 25, 2024. His remarkable sound recently caught the attention of @mazitundeednut, an Afrobeat influencer who proceeded to repost J12’s content on his page. Similarly his song Money (track 2 on TRANSITION EP) was used for a dance routine which featured @cousinskeether, @uncle_azeez, @_macroth, @kao_267 and posted by @uncle_azeez on instagram. @scoobynero and @dapublicist also created a viral content with his song money on IG. He delivered a breath taking performance at dot to dot festival 2024 in Nottingham. He is drafted to perform at major festivals this summer. See him now, hear him roar!
