“Hailing from both Paris and London, A VOID are responsible for buzz-saw grunge pop that combines bitter grit and a self-effacing lyrical charm which results in some of the best alt. rock that you’re likely to hear. Vocalist Camille Alexander possesses riot grrrl charisma that frankly surpasses any kind of categorisation when taken in tandem with her nakedly personal lyrics, giving their ever-accessible songs a perennially dark heart. Their recently self-released debut album, ‘Awkward and Devastated’, is a vital listen and is available from their website, via Bandcamp, and the usual digital platforms.”

Highly recommended for fans of Sonic Youth, Reuben, Hole, Deftones, biffy clyro, Babes In Toyland, Nymphs, L7, Rolo Tomassi, Georges Brassens, Le Coutances, etc.

“Bad Girls is one hell of an entrance for Midlands duo You Want Fox. It struts in, all glamorous punk and sleazy garage, instantly leaving handprints on the memory before strutting straight out again. There’s libidinous rhythms, buzz saw riffs that work like lead guitar but make the ribcage throb as only a bass can, and a glossy lipstick sneer of a chorus. Royal Blood have some company, and this time it’s arrived in high heels.”
Steve B, Kerrang Magazine

“I love the contrast between beautiful ethereal voices and that really grungy dirty bass line. The bass line for take me home is stunning.
And then the vocals floating on the top. There’s something unnerving about it. It’s like a siren song, drawing you in…”
Dean Jackson, BBC Introducing

“… Acoustically led, her songs are of love, politics and quite possibly, the kitchen sink, and her voice is pure as crystal.” -Paul Scott-Bates, Louder Than War Magazine

“’The Sea’ by Helen McCookerybook is gentle but scathing, quiet but raging, fierce but melodic.” -Cazz Blaise

Mollusca Vita is the illegitimate bin baby of Amy Winehouse and Bill Bailey. A soulful anarchistic warrior clown wielding a guitar named frog, hollering songs about the power and abuse of love, the dystopian elite and smashing the patriarchy. All this with a voice that will slice to the core of your own playful heart like the deliciously deadly Katana sword of Beatrix Kiddo herself.

Sue Clayton Documentary Film maker: Calais Children: A Case To Answer

Calais Children is a film and live campaign by Sue Clayton. It is a compelling 62-minute film following the scandal of what happened to the almost 2000 lone children who were seeking refuge in the Calais Jungle when it burnt to the ground – most of whom had a legal case to be in the UK. Following the destruction of the camp, we are now years later still fighting for these children to have safe passage.
