The Shrives

10.15 pm

“If you like fast, frenetic punk rock, big ass WOAH-OAHs and y’know, Green Day, you’ll probably be into this.” – Rock Sound

“Matt Grocott & The Shrives are unafraid to experiment, with their music veering from solid indie to pop to punk-funk.” – NME

“There are rushes of power-pop energy and acoustic tracks that fall somewhere between Johnny Cash and Violent Femmes, all served with a vintage punk and new-wave vibe. Keep your eye on The Shrives.” – Kerrang!

“In just over two minutes my enthusiasm for new music has been reignited.”
– Marnie Wood, Under City Lights

In a world where quiffs made a comeback, The Shrives bounced back, ready to release their musical talent, good looks and charm among their local audience. Fast forward half a year and they are whisked off to California to record an album with one of the major players in the rock and roll world, Billie Joe Armstrong. With him producing, The Shrives created something a little more than just a basic indie band.

Their debut single “Turn Me On” has been recognized by the likes of Steve Lamacq at BBC 6 Music, Kerrang! Magazine, NME and Rock Sound, just to name a few. They have played everywhere from the 100 Club and King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, to a wedding where they didn’t even give the couple a first dance.

With the debut album, “Back In The Morrow” soon to be released, The Shrives prepare to take over, one village hall at a time. Viva La Shrivalution.

The Ruffs

9.30 pm

The Ruffs are a four piece rock band from Nottingham founded by songwriter Connor Spray. The fiery four piece now consists of Connors brother Tyler Spray on drums, Matt Wright on lead guitar and Blaine Monk on Bass. Their sound is gritty slap-in-the-face guitar riffs accompanied by punchy drums, solid beefy bass lines and Connor’s as-British-as-it-gets powerful vocals. With a few nice gigs under their belt  including BBC Introducing, Dot to Dot Festival, Sofa Sounds and Rock City the band are definitely moving in the right direction! – Carbon Copy Music
