On Tuesday 12th October I took photos of Fontaine’s D.C at Rock City Nottingham, this assignment was the first time I had ever heard of the band so I was intrigued to know what they were about and what audience they were attracting. I found them to be a more unique sound and had possibly been inspired in their youth by other older mainstream acts such as Linkin Park, Green Day and Nirvana. Rock City is obviously such an iconic venue, steeped in Nottingham musical history and famous for having so many massive acts, so I couldn’t miss an opportunity to take photos here. I loved watching the lighting being set up and the nostalgic vibes the venue gives me from previous gigs I’ve watched here.
Later on I began to be more interested in getting to know the band and started to listen a bit closer while taking photos of them.
As the night began to close I really started to enjoy the song , ‘Boys In The Better Land’ which that sounded different and was easy to follow. Overall, this set challenged me with different opportunities to experiment with lighting and was creatively challenging yet enabling me to capture some really interesting photos which I hope I have!
