If muddy fields aren’t for you then I’m Not From London are here to bring you the festival experience without all the mud, dirty toilets or the inevitable flooded tent. Held just outside of town at the prestigious Barton House, the old Barton bus depot has played host to many a music and creative event over the last few years since transforming into an events venue. Over the 25th and 26th July, I’m Not From London are bringing you two days of music, booze and boogie.
Headlining the Friday evening will be Spaceships Are Cool. Creating a wonderland of beats and bleeps, coupled with chilled out vocals, acoustic guitars and a whole host of other toys, this band wouldn’t seem out of place in the BBC radiophonic workshop. They have recently been described as “The Flaming Lips & Beta Band meeting Louis & Bebe Barron in an off-world sweet shop”. Joined by Big Rhino, who are guaranteed to put a smile on your face with their pop rock infectious rhythms and The Breakfast Club, who’s three voices will make you laugh with their genuine lyrics and their harmonies will amaze you.
Saturday night brings Nottingham’s favourite alt-pop troubadours, We Show Up On Radar. “Like the lovechild of The Flaming Lips and Bright Eyes that has been raised by Mercury Rev on a diet of stories by The Brothers Grimm” (NUSIC), We Show Up On Radar have a huge local following and are sure to close the festival with a bang. Joining them will be Cecille Grey who create beautiful, captivating performances in their own inimitable alternative pop style. If that wasn’t enough, we also bring you 94 Gunships, with foot stomping blues inspired music to delight the ears and the soothing tones and Future Sound Of Nottingham Competition finalist Josh Wheatley.
Tickets can be purchased via the Barton House website HERE or £10 on the door:
