How are you involved in I’m Not From London?
I am currently doing an internship (which I’ve given myself the role of A&R…) with ‘I’m Not From London’ – so in the time spent at the label, I’ve been involved with finding locals artists to play events and gigs, involved with the up-coming ‘Hockley Hustle’ music festival, as well as liaising with venues, bands, promoters and PA companies.
What’s your standard day like?
A standard day I am typically involved with the various projects/events that ‘I’m Not From London’ host – it could be finding local acts for events to then helping out with the event itself in terms of promotion, everyday is a mixed bag!
Most memorable Nottingham gig?
A difficult one, but if I had to be pinned down for my most memorable moment it was seeing Dog Is Dead sell out the Bodega back in 2011 – a memorable one because of witnessing signs of great things to come from a local band!
You’re favourite 3 bands?
My favourite band is The Maccabees, but at the moment I’ve been listening to a lot of The Modern Lovers and The Velvet Underground.
One’s to watch from Nottingham 2015?
One’s to watch from Nottingham for next year are (in no particular order) Field Studies, Ivory Serfs, Georgie Rose and April Towers.
