‘Out of My Mind’: A Review of TYBIRD’s Indie Rock New Single
I wasn't expecting a bedroom demo turned full band anthem to hit quite this hard, but TYBIRD's 'Out of My Mind' does exactly that.
The track starts small, just an acoustic guitar and Ty Morgan's voice, before the rest of the band piles in and the energy shifts entirely. By the time the guitar solo arrives, it feels earned rather than just loud. There's real emotional weight underneath the riffs too, written as Morgan navigated pressure to abandon music for a more conventional path after high school.
On writing 'Out of My Mind': "I wrote it in my bedroom during my senior year of high school. I was feeling a lot of pressure from teachers and people around me about what I was going to do after high school, especially because I was choosing to seriously pursue music instead of going to college. I put everything I had into writing this song."
TYBIRD blend gritty vocals, driving riffs and big melodies with a live-band chemistry that nods to the greats while sounding entirely their own, drawing comparisons to Rival Sons, Dirty Honey and Greta Van Fleet. What I appreciate most is how unpolished the honesty feels, even with a mix from an engineer who's worked with the likes of Mötley Crüe and Jon Bon Jovi.
TYBIRD aren't trying to be a throwback act. They're carrying rock forward on their own terms, and 'Out of My Mind' is a genuinely exciting sign of where they're headed.
With more releases planned in the coming months and a growing community of fans known as the Birdies, TYBIRD are just getting started, and this one is worth your full attention.
