A Review of REFLEKTA - they want you to stop and feel it… ‘My Love’ is the sound of gratitude at full volume…

The Sydney Brit rockers open their debut album with an emergency in reverse, a singalong built on a single line, and a guitar part that arrived from somewhere out of the ether on a Friday night.

The release will be supported by an East Coast Tour & limited 150 copy vinyl run!

There is a moment at the top of ‘My Love’, if you listen carefully, where the heartbeat doubles as a bass drum accent and the sound of an emergency vehicle fades into a driving guitar riff. The idea, as REFLEKTA tell it, is an emergency in reverse. Someone is coming back to life. By the time the chorus arrives, you know exactly who wrote this song and why.

The lead single and opening track from their debut album Way Back Home (out 19th June via Community Music/Unified Music Group), ‘My Love’ was the last song written for the record. What began as an EP had already grown into a full album when the track arrived, almost unbidden, during one of those Friday night sessions the songwriter describes as staying in with live performances from legends past. The chorus came immediately. The verse took longer, landing only once a bass and guitar interplay was found that clashed in exactly the right way.

The result is the kind of song that feels like it has always existed. A single vocal line in the chorus, repeated and unashamedly joyful, does all the heavy lifting. Shimmering guitars and driving drums push it somewhere between a late night and a packed venue. There is a lead solo later in the track that mirrors the vocal melody precisely and earns every second of it.

REFLEKTA have been building steadily since their late 2025 debut, accumulating over 31,000 streams and earning Apple Music editorial placements for ‘Feel the Revelry’ across New in Rock (Worldwide) and Today’s Rock (Canada) among others. Way Back Home is the record that pulls all of it together. The band tour nationally in support, including an album launch at The Lansdowne in Sydney on 4th July.

“It’s a celebration of the good things, which I am always grateful for but sometimes forget to stop and appreciate. It’s a good vibes party track about something we can all collectively appreciate and a way to celebrate that together.” - REFLEKTA

‘My Love’ is out now. Way Back Home is released 19th June via Community Music/Unified Music Group.
