An Interview with Of Vizions After They Dazzle with High-Energy Anthem - 'Enchanted'

Of Vizions are taking their sound to new heights with their latest release, ‘Enchanted,’ a track that encapsulates the band’s unique fusion of punk rock energy and deep, emotive storytelling...

What began as a slower, more reflective ballad quickly transformed in the studio into a fiery, crowd-moving anthem—one that blends the raw intensity of early 2000s pop-punk with the brooding lyricism of bands like The Cure and Depeche Mode. This evolution reflects the band's instinctive creative process, where spontaneity in the studio leads to electrifying shifts in direction.

With ‘Enchanted,’ Of Vizions delivers a powerful message about embracing love, enjoying life, and finding freedom in both the light and dark sides of human connection. The driving guitar riffs and relentless drumbeats create a contagious energy that’s impossible to resist, making it easy to picture the crowd jumping and dancing along to every note. The song’s intensity, coupled with its emotionally charged lyrics, proves that Of Vizions is not only capable of creating memorable anthems but also pushing the boundaries of their sound.

We sat down with the band to discuss the evolution of ‘Enchanted’, their influences, and what drives their creative spirit. From classic rock’s rebellious heart to the emotional depth of modern punk, Of Vizions continues to deliver a unique blend of nostalgia and fresh energy in every release. Here, the band shares their thoughts on everything from their first Aerosmith concert to the balance between light and dark in their music...

  1. What inspired the shift in energy from the original ballad version of ‘Enchanted’ to its current high-energy form?

The song just kind of evolved more into a higher energy feel as we were finishing it in production.  A lot of writing and special moments that happen in the studio, in regards to how a song is created, are very spontaneous and intuitive.  We always envision how the songs will feel in a live setting as well, and towards the end of the final writing process… we just envisioned the whole crowd jumping and dancing to the high energy feel of the song.

  1. If you could capture one feeling from performing live and put it into a song, what would it be?

An ultimate human connection, finding your identity and feeling free.

  1. How do you balance the dark and light aspects of love in your songwriting?

Great question!  A lot of it has become natural from writing many songs.  Most story telling usually has dark elements and mystery and then a positive light amongst those elements.  I think I just do it naturally at his point with the feelings I am feelings as I am writing.  Also with this last batch of songs I wrote and recorded, I was heavily influenced by The Cure and Depeche Mode.

  2. What’s a moment from your personal life that has shaped your approach to music?

Moving a lot as a kid and losing relationships and friends and making new ones.  FInding new ways of fitting in and connecting with people.

  1. How does the legacy of classic rock bands influence the modern sound of ‘Of Vizions’?

I love how classic rock bands were so real and raw and not afraid to write about anything, including love, politics, or even simple weird experimental rock songs.  They also brought sexuality and every front man was not afraid to embrace more of a feminine energy.  It truly was a revolutionary era for music for identity discovery and as a way of life..

  1. What was it about your first Aerosmith concert that made you want to pursue music professionally?

They were just such a fun energetic band and completed engaged with the crowd.  And just watching Steven Tyler running around, singing his lungs out, dancing and being so wild and free, was truly inspiring.  It just looked like, to me, what ultimate freedom of expression looks like.  And then I knew that’s what I wanted to do.

  2. What’s the one message you hope listeners take away from ‘Enchanted’?

Embrace love, have fun, feel good and enjoy your life.

  3. How do you stay connected to your early musical influences while evolving your own unique sound?

I love having vinyl nights, and just listing to those early great records from beginning to end.  Vinyl is a time machine and sounds so rich, real and raw.  Listening to music that way takes you right back to a special place in time where that music profoundly impacted you.  Also I love and am a big advocate for the album.  I love going back and listening to some of those early records, from front to back.  An album is an artist’s world, that they created for the listener to visit, escape, and to feel.

  1. Can you describe your songwriting process in three words?

    Dreamstate, Truth, Passion

  1. How does your love for music intertwine with your friendships and relationships today?

Music is in my blood and is what I believe in.  I always have music playing around my friends and romantic partners.  I love to sing and dance to music, and I also love music history and love watching band documentaries.
